Momma Fox
Saturday night we went back down to a local fox den. The babies did not come out that we saw, but momma was there and headed out to pick up some dinner.
Cheyenne Mountain Zoo
Yesterday we took the mother in law and my brother in law to the Zoo. It was a great time, and the animals all took pity on my brother in law who only had his 18-55 lens with him. It was like they knew, they all came down to the front.
Foxes and Beavers
Our favorite park here in Colorado Springs now has a fox den and a beaver house. Last night both were out.
Hummingbird Festival
okay, so we went to the hummingbird festival. We saw lots of cool stuff, but sadly IÂ only took pictures of the awesome birds from the Pueblo Raptor Center. In my defense, I got some REALLY good images.
Juvenile Red Tail
I spotted this Juvenile Red Tailed Hawk today at lunch near Quail Lake.
Late August Hummer
I went over to Starsmore today at lunch. Have not been over there in a while. It’s a very sunny day today, so I knew I’d have lots and lots of lunch. The hummingbirds were out in full force.
Zoo with Alice
Today was a great day for the Zoo. Alice had a good time, and we all enjoyed the new Encounter Africa enclosure. We stopped by Dickies for dinner and all enjoyed some good BBQ.
Manitou Lake
We actually got up and going at a decent time today, that’s pretty amazing for us on a Saturday. We got some stuff finished up in the yard, Home Depot installed the new microwave, and I packed a lunch and we hit the road. We ended up at Rampart Reservoir where we got rained on. The fire damage up there is amazing, heart breaking really for such a beautiful area. We left there, stopped in woodland park for a bit, then ended up at Manitou Lake. We saw some Pelicans, a beaver, and a few other fun birds.
Territory Days
Memorial Day weekend means Territory days. The birds are all part of “HawkQuest”.
